They were planning to meet Ceinwen's husband at "The Mines, Anyox, British Columbia". {Actually it says Anyoz.] Their UK contact was Ceinwen's sister, Mrs. Evans, 42, Ovatmorlais [which means Pontmorlais], Merthyr. Event Note
Name: Ceinwen Arscott Ceinwen was listed as "not accompanied by husband or wife". She was with Margaret Arscott, aged 9, and Sarah Arscott, aged 5. They were headed for (perhaps) Camarthen Stores, 42, Pontmorelais [sic], Merthyr. They listed their future permanent residence as "other parts of the British Empire", perhaps back to Canada. Ceinwen listed herself as "Housewife" and British, along with her children. They travelled in "class T/T/C", whatever that was. Aha! On an unrelated passenger list, I see someone listed as travelling "Tourist Third Cabin". Here's a forum post: "Olympic had 'tourist third cabin' introduced in 1925, to cater for the finest third class or less attractive second class accommodation; travellers paid more than a standard third class fare and a little less than a second class fare. From what I remember, it wasn't really a bona fide separate class, just a different set of rates. " Both the Canadian emigration records for Ceinwen say that Her sister, Myfanwy Evans, lived at 42, Pontmorlais. So Myfanwy was already married by April 1925. |

Narrative
Margaret and Sarah Arscott were the daughters of Ceinwen Williams, born in Merthyr Tydfil. They went with their parents to Canada sometime in the 1920s, since there is a record of them returning in 1928. That record says thet they intend to return to Canada.
These are the grandchildren of Thomas Williams, allegedly brother of John Thomas Williams. It's thought that Thomas and John Thomas had a mother called Sarah, and that she had a sister called Margaret. Margaret was rich and was still alive when these children were born. Were they named after great-grandma and her sister?
